This Privacy Policy sets out how Neap Education Pty Ltd ACN 634 499 791 (Neap, we, us or our) collects, holds, uses and discloses personal information about teachers, school staff, students, prospective students, parents and guardians, authors, contractors, job applicants and other individuals who interact with us, including through www.neap.com.au and any related Neap online services, accounts, downloads, resources or platforms (Website).
In this Privacy Policy, personal information and sensitive information have the meanings given in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
1. Personal information we collect
The nature and amount of personal information we collect depends on your relationship with us and how you interact with the Website and our services. We may collect:
- identification and contact details, such as your name, email address, phone number, postal address and account login details;
- school, institution and professional details, such as the school or organisation you work at, your role or position, subject areas, year levels taught, faculty or department, state or territory, curriculum interests and resource preferences;
- account and website activity information, including when you create an account, log in, access the Teacher Resource Hub, download or request resources, subscribe to newsletters, submit forms or interact with Website features;
- purchase, order and payment-related information, where applicable;
- information you provide when making enquiries, requesting support, giving feedback, participating in promotions, events, webinars, forums or similar activities;
- information about students, parents or guardians where that information is provided to us in connection with our services and it is lawful and appropriate for us to collect it;
- employment, author, contractor or tutor application information, such as CVs, qualifications, teaching experience, references and related information; and
- technical information, such as IP address, device type, browser type, cookies, pages visited, referring pages, approximate location and other analytics data.
We will only collect sensitive information with your consent, or where otherwise required or permitted by law.
2. Teacher Resource Hub
If you register for or use the Neap Teacher Resource Hub, we may collect and use information including your name, email address, school, role, subject areas, year levels taught, curriculum interests, account details, resource download history and related interactions. We collect this information to:
- create, verify, administer and secure your account;
- confirm that access to teacher resources is being requested by or on behalf of a teacher, school staff member or other authorised education professional;
- provide, manage and improve the Teacher Resource Hub and free teacher resources;
- understand which resources are useful to teachers and schools;
- send administrative messages about your account, access to resources, updates to resources, changes to our terms, security notices or service-related matters;
- where permitted by law and subject to your consent or ability to opt out where required, send you information about Neap products, resources, events, offers and services that may be relevant to teachers or schools; and
- protect our intellectual property rights, enforce our Terms and Conditions and investigate suspected unauthorised copying, distribution, resale, publication or misuse of Neap resources.
3. How we collect personal information
We generally collect personal information directly from you, including when you create an account, complete a form, download a resource, make a purchase, contact us, subscribe to communications, attend an event, provide feedback or otherwise interact with us. We may also collect information from schools, parents or guardians, referees, publicly available sources, service providers or other third parties where it is lawful and reasonable to do so.
4. Cookies, analytics and similar technologies
We may use cookies, pixels, analytics tools and similar technologies to operate the Website, keep you logged in, remember preferences, understand how users interact with the Website and improve our resources and services. You can disable cookies through your browser settings, but some parts of the Website, including account-based access and downloads, may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

These providers may include hosting, email, analytics, customer database, ecommerce, payment, productivity and support providers such as Shopify, Google, Microsoft, Amazon Web Services, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, Stripe, PayPal and similar providers used by us from time to time.
